The last lines of the book "The Polar Express" always choke me up...
At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell. But as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found, one Christmas, that she could no longer hear it’s sweet sound. Though I have grown old, the bell still rings for me. As it does for all who truly believe.

Noah just as excited to go up to the engine and watch it coupling to the passenger cars as he was to see Santa. He loves everything about trains, and listened closely as the conductor told us that it takes 9,000 gallons of water and a whole lotta coal to get the 1907 Baldwin steam locomotive up the canyon. They also used a vintage diesel electric locomotive for part of our trip, which Noah was proud to report to us.
