On this lazy summer day I packed up the boys and headed to the Zoo.
Noah was excited to show us the "Ghost of the Bayou", a rare white alligator from New Orleans -- one of ten in the entire world. This alligator isn’t albino; he’s leucistic (a rare genetic condition in which there aren't any pigment cells in the skin), and purely white in color with blue eyes.
Eastern mythology says these creatures are symbols of extremely good luck and legend has it that anyone gazing into the blue eyes of the rare white alligator will be blessed with good luck for the coming year, and prosperity will surely follow... so we've got that going for us!

In the Asian Highlands exhibit, this was an example of a ball that a Tiger would play with. Nate & Hayden loved the opportunity to kick it.
They are getting close, but not quite walking yet and they are frustrated to be confined to the stroller. I can tell they can't wait to run with all of the kids they see zooming by.
