Friday evening we attended the State Fair with Grandpa & Grandma, Lisa & her new beau (yay!) Jared, & Adrian & Kiran. We also met up with our friends the Powell's and ran into the Gilbert's.
Noah was estatic that Ella was there to go on the rides with! I warned them that Noah would be in his full cowboy gear (vest & chaps homemade by Grandma F.), and she joined in with a fine cowgirl hat. It is the fair after all... real cowboys are there, and they fit right in.
The kids love to go through the "Little hands on the farm" attraction, which takes them through the entire farming process -- their size. Nate & Hayden planted seeds, cultivated veggies, collected eggs, milked a cow, brushed a sheep, rode a tractor, sold their goods and bought a treat with their pay.
It really is a cute and fun area for kids. Nate had a meltdown when he had to leave the sandbox & couldn't reach the pedals of his tractor, but Bill calmed him down. Though he finished with a tear stained face, he had fun and they enjoyed their treat afterward.
After eating the healthy fair food
(yeah, right!), we headed for the rides and then the animal barns. The last picture shows a fabulous ride with Noah, Ella, Nate, Hayden and fellow 2 yr old Hannah Gilbert. I think the twins were amazed with the rides and all of the sounds and lights.
Noah and Ella rode a spooky ride called the Ghost Pirate. Last year, Noah came out of it white as a sheet, but this year he said he was ready to try again "and not even be scared". He came out smiling, but admitted that they had their eyes closed the entire ride! Comedy!
All three boys fell asleep on the way home!
