Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

We left San Jose and headed for Vallejo to visit Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Bill & I were so excited for the kids, and we walked in realizing that as they get older, amusement parks are going to be a lot of fun to enjoy with them. I, however, get nauseated instantly now on spinning rides, so I'll have to take on the roller coasters instead.

With the twins coming up on 3 yrs old, life is getting easier. We no longer have to rely on strollers to corral them & keep from losing them in crowds. They will stay with us as we walk around & we only needed strollers at the end of the long day when they were nodding off.

We had a great time on rides in Thomas Land (full of Thomas the Tank Engine rides) and there were a lot of rides throughout the park for every age group. Nate & Hayden were just barely tall enough for quite a few fun rides they could go on without parents, and Noah was tall enough for the next level. Bill & Noah's favorite -- a ride on the log (water) ride splashing downhill through a huge wave of water! They rode it 3 times, with huge smiles on their wet faces. Nate & Hayden really like flying the airplanes! Noah liked feeding carrots to the giraffes, and the killer whale show was a big hit.

After a long fun afternoon, we headed for Napa Valley to stop in and visit my cousin Kay & family for a few hours before heading to the bay area for the night. The boys were excited to see Casey & Curtis and we couldn't believe how much they've grown in 2 yrs! Handsome little guys, Kay!
