The Polar Express

Last night, we rode The Polar Express with many good friends of ours and our boys -- The Powell 5 and Kim & Tia. Everyone was excited to board the train and enjoy the ride! The Heber Valley Railroad does a great job of recreating the story, including hot cocoa, cookies, elves, and Santa who gives each child a bell!
Noah sat with his peeps, Ella and Tia with her mom Kim, and the two twin sets (Nate & Hayden and Charlie & Greta) bounced between Nick, Krista, Bill and I. We were lucky to not be in a sold out car, so we had extra room and didn't have to hold the twins on our laps the entire ride.
The views of the Heber Valley are beautiful. We started out at 5pm and the sun set as we rode towards The North Pole to pick up Santa. The elves kept everyone happy by singing Christmas songs and chatting with the kids. They also handed out copies of the book for everyone to read along as they read it over the microphone. What a magical, fun ride!
After we arrived back at the train station, we braved a local Heber restaurant with our party of 12, and were happily surprised that the food was excellent and we were given a private area of the restaurant to ourselves! The kids collapsed into their beds and are still talking about the ride today!
