Our Christmas tree is up! We downsized to a "skinny" tree this year so that we would still have some living room left when it is up, now that we've added 2 new couches to the room. Our tree from previous years was 5 1/2 ft diameter! Now we're down to 41" and pre-lit ... very nice!Noah, Bill and I set it up, arranged branches and decorated it last night while listening to Christmas CDs. Noah was all over the ornaments, which made me a bit itchy... so I took a small tree that usually is set up downstairs and gave it to him to put in his room and decorate. He really wanted to take most of my favorite full size ornaments, but I talked him into smaller ones and we were both happy. A string of Christmas lights across the ceiling & down his tree and his room is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Nate & Hayden woke up in the morning and noticed the tree, but thankfully did not tackle it. I let them know they could look but not touch. Nate repeated "We don't touch it!" (like he says when I pull out the playdoh "We don't eat it!").
At night, when the lights came on they were fascinated and just stared. My mom has been giving us (and my siblings) special ornaments each year and my childhood friends, Angie & Jenni have bought the boys beautiful glass ornaments every year since each was born (the twins are viewing one in the pic). These very special ornaments from family & friends, as well as the ones we've collected on our travels make for a great tree full of memories!
