4th of July

Bob, Kristie and their 3 boys flew out and stayed with us over 4th of July weekend before we all headed up for a week at Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. We parked in Olympus Cove and watched the fireworks all over the valley... hundreds of displays going off at once. It was really cool to watch. Afterward, we set a few off on our street for the kids.

As you can see in the top photo, Cocoa is surrounded by all of the kids and surely loving every minute of it. We lost her on July 5th after 12 really great years. We loved her so much, and I think she gave us as great a life as we tried to give her. She was a true companion, and our first baby. We have so many memories hiking and camping with her. She loved to carry large sticks when she hiked, and as she got older she liked hunting rocks in the streams, it was funny to watch her bark & growl at them. She loved nothing better than to be near people and have someone give her a pat on the head. When you stopped petting her, she would whine until you started again. We really miss her and will always remember what a beautiful and loving dog she was.
We'll see you at Rainbow Bridge, Cocoa...
