Sundance & the Alpine Loop

Last weekend was the weekend to drive and see the fall colors peaking, so we packed up the van and drove to Sundance for lunch. The kids enjoyed butterscotch lollipops by the pond, and the amazingness that is Sundance Resort. No sightings this time of Mr. Redford... sorry mom!
(we saw him at brunch a few yrs ago, and mom was the only one to miss him...)
Driving the Alpine Loop is beautiful in the fall, with reds, oranges, yellows and green leaves everywhere! It's a slow drive up & down the mountain pass and gets pretty narrow in places. In other words, it's more fun for the driver than the front seat passenger who is digging their nails into the seat! It was a great day in the fresh air, hiking in the Aspens.  On the other side of the pass is a reservoir we like to stop and to take in the views and let the kids skip rocks.  This year there was more mud throwing than rock skipping, but it was still fun!
