I took these shots on the manual setting on my digital SLR with out a flash. That is a big deal for me, someone who rarely takes the camera off the automatic settings. I'm taking a photography class and trying to learn from this week's homework. It took me close to 10 shots to get the right settings -- to get this light enough without a flash, and I'm glad the boys were still sitting there when I finally got it close. There is still a blur because of a slow shutter speed, but I'll still take it as a successful practice.
